Nathan Adloff is a Los Angeles based Screenwriter and Director. His most recent semi-autobiographical feature is MILES (Directed/Co-Wrote), starring Molly Shannon, Paul Reiser, Missi Pyle, Tim Boardman, Annie Golden, Andi Matichak, Yeardley Smith and Stephen Root. MILES won the Audience Choice Award in Outfest Los Angeles, received theatrical, digital distribution and Netflix streaming.
Nathan made his feature film debut with NATE & MARGARET (Directed/Co-Wrote/Produced). It sold for worldwide distribution prior to completion. Roger Ebert praised the film as "A smart, observant movie about two very particular people, and its casting is pitch-perfect." The New York Times called it "Fragile and simple in the best possible way." The film is based on his life in Chicago, and has been stamped as a modern HAROLD AND MAUDE.
Nathan acted in Joe Swanberg's early films and IFC series, YOUNG AMERICAN BODIES, starring Greta Gerwig. He co-created and directed a TV pilot, BAD SIDES, which was a finalist in the Chicago Comedy TV Pilot Competition. His award-winning dark comedy short film series, COCK N’ BULL, which he also acts in, screens in festivals around the world and is streaming on multiple platforms, including Amazon.
He just finished co-writing his third semi-autobiographical coming-of-age feature, NAIVE, and is eager for the film’s production on the horizon. Adloff is also developing an original neo-noir crime thriller series with Norman Buckley ("Sweet Magnolias") and Verton Banks ("9-1-1").
